Toby has 16 years’ experience as a professional conductor, specialising in chamber music and church choirs in the Anglican tradition. After training as a boy treble in the north-east of England, he graduated from York and Leeds universities and also holds a diploma in choral directing. He has led numerous workshops across Britain, taken visiting choirs to major British cathedrals, and directed choral tours in France and Norway. In 2012, he founded Yorkshire’s leading liturgical chamber choir, The Clerkes of All Saints.
In 2016, Toby moved from Yorkshire to Belgium. The Flemish Evensongs Tour will be his first major venture in his adopted homeland!More about Toby

James is an organist, teacher and choral director based in York, UK. For the last ten years he has directed and taught music at prestigious schools in the north of England, including Giggleswick School and Queen Margaret’s School for Girls. He has a wealth of experience coaching young ensembles and has led numerous choir tours to cathedrals across the UK including Gloucester, Liverpool and St. Paul’s.
James is a graduate of the University of York and Cambridge University, where he was Organ Scholar at Peterhouse College. In addition to choral music, his musical interests include the musicals of Stephen Sondheim, early 20th century French music and jazz.
Rosanna has been involved in all the planning stages of the tour and will be on the other end of the phone (or email) to answer any questions you may have. She will also assist with the various logistical aspects while we are in Flanders. Rosanna will be ably helped throughout by Tabitha who, come July, will be 16 months old and ready to begin her singing career!
