Our Eurostar leaves London St Pancras on Wednesday lunchtime (12:58 to be precise) and arrives in the centre of Brussels exactly 2 hours later. From there, we switch directly to a Belgian intercity train to take us to Leuven. Total travel time from London to the door of our hotel: comfortably under 3 hours.
On the return journey, we arrive back in London at 16:57 on Sunday.
Trains in Belgium
We’ll travel around Flanders using local trains which run direct between Leuven and our other singing destinations in Ghent, Antwerp and Bruges. All the journeys are under an hour, except for Bruges on the north coast of Belgium, which is still less than 90 minutes.
By the way, some of the Flemish railway stations are worth the journey in themselves! Try googling Antwerpen-Centraal and see why it has the nickname the cathedral of the railways…
Our hotel accommodation will be simple, modern and comfortable. We’ll be staying in the ibis budget close to the centre of Leuven for most of the trip, using that as a base to travel to our other venues. On the last night, we’ll move to the Century Hotel in Antwerp so we can sing in the cathedral on Saturday evening and the Anglican church on Sunday morning without having to transport our luggage to and fro!
Everyone will stay in en-suite rooms, with breakfast and wifi included. The price includes single occupancy of a double or twin room — but if you want to share with someone else, there’s a discount for each of you.
All transport and accommodation is included in your booking. We’ve negotiated substantial group discounts which are reflected in the price for the tour.
But you also have the option to make your own arrangements for transport or accommodation. For instance, this could be useful if you’d prefer to fly from elsewhere in the UK instead of taking the Eurostar, if you would rather go more up-market for the hotels, or you want to extend your stay in Belgium. Just select the relevant options on the booking form and we’ll reduce the price of your booking accordingly.
